Your profile indicates that you are someone who exercises at least three times a week, which is great. As long as you're spending at least 20 minutes exercising each time, you'll be feeling the benefits of regular exercise. You're mentally alert, confident and have lots of energy. You also sleep well, eat well and drink plenty of water.
The most important thing for you to do is to stick with your routine. Make sure you combine all the areas of fitness:
- cardiovascular – running, swimming, aerobics, salsa, power walking;
- toning – weights at the gym, toning classes, or the press-ups, sit-ups and squats you do at home; and
- flexibility – stretching.
To have overall fitness, you must include all three.
Top tips
- Aim to do your cardiovascular training five times a week. For toning, aim for two to three sessions a week. Try our easy-to-follow toning exercises.
- Remember to stretch before and after every exercise session.
- Always maintain good posture: imagine someone has dropped an ice cube down your back, and instantly you will be upright with your shoulders pulled back.
