Focus on creating balance

As you think it, so you become it.

Advice

Continue to bring balance into your life. In order to be the best that you would want to be in anything you do, you need to look after yourself. Doing so means you're more likely to be able to give more and to care better for others, in terms of both quality time and attention. Through consciously promoting balance, you are, in turn, promoting wellness.

When you are faced with a challenging situation or relationship, remember that your growth comes through the so-called adversity. Take courage from the gift of learning.

Top tips

  • Look for the positive, no matter how small. Gratitude plays a key part in maintaining a healthy mind by focusing your concentration on what is great and abundant in your life already.
  • Laughter produces a healthy amount of endorphins, which increases the feel-good factor and lessens the effect of stress hormones. Try surrounding yourself with joyful people; it will rub off.
  • The mind and body are inextricably linked. Thinking tranquil and happy thoughts releases the corresponding chemicals.
